Does Aniimo have cross-save?
Cross-play: confirmed. You can play with people on other platforms.
Cross-save: not confirmed. Nothing official says your progress follows you to another device.
These are two different features, and treating them as one is the most common mistake in coverage of this game. Aniimo has committed to the first and has not committed to the second.
What is actually confirmed
Cross-play is real. Steam's own store category metadata lists Cross-Platform Multiplayer, and the Xbox listing states both cross-platform multiplayer and cross-platform co-op. That is first-party and unambiguous.
Cross-save is not. No first-party source states that a save moves between PS5, Xbox, PC and mobile. The strongest official wording anywhere is an aspiration rather than a commitment:
“Our goal is seamless gameplay and progress synchronization across PC, Xbox, and Mobile for a top-notch experience.”
Note what that sentence does and does not do. It says goal, not feature. And it names PC, Xbox and Mobile while omitting PlayStation entirely — the post predates the PS5 announcement, and nothing has replaced it since.
The Xbox listing does include Xbox Play Anywhere, but that syncs Xbox consoles with Windows. It is a Microsoft-ecosystem feature, not evidence of cross-save with PlayStation or mobile.
How accounts actually work
- The account key is an email address, not a platform account. Official launch-event copy ties rewards to “the email address used to create your first character”.
- There are three regional shards — Aniimo-Americas, Aniimo-Europe, Aniimo-Apac.
- Characters are locked to the shard they are created on. One account may hold characters on more than one shard, but they are separate characters with separate progress.
- “Channel” — the store or platform — is part of your identity. The official Bond Pact FAQ requires claiming rewards “using the same account and channel”.
- The game is always-online on every platform.
The always-online, server-authoritative design is what makes a single email-keyed account plausible in the first place — which is why cross-save may well arrive. It just has not been announced.
So which platform should you start on?
Treat your first platform as permanent until Pawprint says otherwise. Pick the one you expect to play most, not the one that unlocks first.
This matters right now because mobile launches on 2026-09-23, a week after PC and console. If you mainly intend to play on a phone, starting on PC on the 16th could mean restarting on the 23rd. Waiting is the lower-risk choice.
This matters right now because mobile is still to come on 2026-09-23, a week after PC and console. If you mainly intend to play on a phone, starting on PC today could mean restarting on the 23rd. Waiting is the lower-risk choice.
Both are out now, so this is no longer a question of timing — it is a question of which platform you expect to keep playing on. Until Pawprint publishes account-linking details, progress does not follow you between them.
If you play across several devices anyway, the Xbox and Windows pairing is the only sync that is actually confirmed today.
Common questions
Does Aniimo have cross-play?
Yes. Steam lists Cross-Platform Multiplayer in its own store category metadata, and the Xbox listing states cross-platform multiplayer and cross-platform co-op. Playing together across platforms is confirmed.
Does Aniimo have cross-save or cross-progression?
Not confirmed. No first-party source states that a save file moves between PS5, Xbox, PC and mobile. The strongest official wording found is an aspiration — "our goal is seamless gameplay and progress synchronization across PC, Xbox, and Mobile" — which says goal, and conspicuously omits PlayStation. No account-linking or progression-transfer policy has been published.
Are cross-play and cross-save the same thing?
No, and conflating them is the single most common error in Aniimo coverage. Cross-play means you can play together across platforms. Cross-save means your progress follows you to another device. Aniimo has confirmed the first and not the second.
Which platform should I start on?
Until Pawprint publishes account-linking details, treat your first platform as permanent and pick the one you expect to play most. Mobile launches a week after PC and console, so if you intend to play primarily on a phone, waiting for 23 September is the lower-risk choice.
What is Xbox Play Anywhere in Aniimo?
The Xbox listing includes Xbox Play Anywhere, which syncs between Xbox consoles and Windows. That is a Microsoft-ecosystem feature and is not evidence of cross-save with PlayStation or mobile.
